Derick James has broad commercial experience in Consultancy and IT-driven business change through Board level roles in both industry and IT Services organisations. He has a strong track record of sales in IT Services, Software Products and Consultancy. Derick’s corporate experience includes Seagram Distillers, Ernst & Young, Alldays plc, and latterly Sopra Group, where he had responsibility for their Scottish Private Sector clients, including major Financial Services and Utilities clients. Derick joined Contemplate in April 2011.
DONALD MORRIS: CHAIRMAN

Donald Morris has significant experience at a senior level in Financial, Business and Technology Services organisations, including Ernst & Young and Boston Consulting Group. He has held senior roles in a large number of major organisations, defining and implementing major change programmes in Europe and North America, with a demonstrable track record of building and leading teams across differing cultures and environments.
DON SANNELLA: FOUNDER, CTO
Professor at the University of Edinburgh, expert and passionate advocate of software quality.
Don Sannella was educated at Yale, UC Berkeley, and Edinburgh University and has spent thirty years in an academic career, reaching his current position of Professor of Computer Science in Edinburgh University’s School of Informatics in 1998.
Don became involved in Contemplate while leading the research project that lead to its formation, and is co-founding Director and Chief Technical Officer.
DAVID ASPINALL: FOUNDER, CSO
Software analysis expert and lead technical architect.
David Aspinall was educated at Cambridge and Edinburgh University, where he is a senior member of staff in the School of Informatics. He has contributed to a substantial body of research in theorem proving, proof carrying code and computer security.
David was technical lead for the research project that evolved into Contemplate, of which he is co-founding Director and Chief Scientific Officer.
IAN STEVENSON: NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
15 years experience working with technology start-ups.
Ian Stevenson has 15 years experience in high technology companies including market analysis, business development, sales planning, raising funds from investors and technical oversight work.
His previous roles include that of R&D Director and CTO, as well as working within a large consultancy and running strategy and innovation projects for major global clients.
Ian is a Member of the Institute of Directors and a Chartered Engineer.
